Obama’s Elite schooling
Obama likes to say that during his stay in Indonesia, he got to know poverty. He doesn’t add - that he got to know it from behind fancy gates-
In the early 1970s, diplomats and Indonesian businessmen lived there in fancy gated houses with wide paved roads and sculpted bushes. [Scharnberg]
Because while
Half the homes [in his neighborhood] were old bamboo huts;
another half
including the Soetoro house, were nicer, with brick or concrete and red-tiled roofs. [Scharnberg]
But life behind gates and under brick and red-tile roofs didn’t suit Obama, so
His mother, Ann, decided that he should get an American education and sent him back from Indonesia to Hawaii, where he was admitted to a £7,000-a-year prep school, Punahau Academy, and lived with his maternal grandparents.
Punahau Academy is
the place in Hawaii where all the Ivy League-bound kids go. [ben Wallace]
Obama’s “typical white” racist but
devoted grandparents, especially his hard-working grandmother, saw to it that young Barry, as he was then known, got a private education. This lifted him way above the miseries of most black Americans. [Peter Hitchens]
As the Daily Mail observed even Obama described Hawaii as
“a childhood dream”: surfing in Hawaii and attending the renowned private Punahou School, founded by Congregationalist missionaries in 1841 and known to local people as a school for the haole (whites). Its annual tuition today costs $15,725. [Stephen]
And all this paradise came with a small price-tag, Obama didn’t even have to study very hard:
Far from being the brilliant student his image suggests, Obama was a consistently B-grade pupil. [Stephen]

Obama attended the private, elite school Punahou from 5th grade to 12th grade. He was raised in Hawaii. Yet look at his website bio, and you will see barely a fleeting mention of Hawaii. Obama, instead, highlights his brief childhood stint in Indonesia when he was a mere toddler to be his actual upbringing. He actually has the audacity (there’s that word again) to cite his toddler years as part of his foreign policy experience and makes himself out to be an international kind of guy because he was “raised” in Indonesia, when in fact, he probably doesn’t remember jack shit about his time in Indonesia because he was still in diapers.
Instead of reading this site for information on hate and negativity, I suggest reading the NY Times, Wash Post, Newsweek, etc.
