Obama Committing Suicide.

Posted at 9:57 pm under Uncategorized

To prove he is the winner, Obama is taking a break. Can’t appear to be campaigning, when you’ve already secured the nomination. Fabulous. He has just opened the doors to Republican attacks, while Clinton is on a massive offensive in states with strong support. Taking time out to celebrate, Obama may as well lie down in his coffin.

I find it odd, to say the least, that Obama shows no intention of appearing in West Virginia. But then, a premature rhetoric of Triumph, is a bit of a handicap.

Except for a few stray cats, independent delegates are not showing any indication of buying the headline that the Primary is over, so I would imagine Obama trying to escape the humiliating wake-up call of losing by 30 to 40 % in West Virginia to his “defeated” rival.

After West Virginia will follow three states with over 50 delegates a piece- only one of which Obama may, and may not, win. His campaign would be advised to sent supporters signals for moderation of their Triumphalism, to lessen the blow of his eventual defeat; if media and fan trends continue in the hysterical fashion of the last two days, Obama is positioning himself to look quite the laughing-stock. By June 4th he will have neither the popular vote, nor the delegate lead (FL and MI always counted). A “laughing stock” is something Clinton is fully capable of leveraging to swiftly secure the nomination.

Not only is Obama refusing to make a campaign stop in West Virginia, he is already making simple mistakes in Oregon, while hopelessly falling behind in Kentucky and Puerto Rico. Posing quite the victor, and resting on his laurels, while Republicans are launching an Anti-Obama campaign, and his opponent is out there digging in her heels, is more than bad judgment; it is arrogant and patronizing. If “bitter” voters needed further proof of the Obama camp’s interest in their vote, they just got it.

But Obama isn’t the only one making big mistakes. By buying into the absurd notion that Obama has already won this Democratic Primary, Republicans are prematurely launching an offensive against him. I thought the GOP was smart, but attacking Obama at a decisive moment in the Democratic Primary, benefits only one candidate- Hillary Clinton.

***

Republicans are already impressing Clinton Democrats. This extract from McCain’s phraseology, which is somehow more compelling than any route Clinton PR ever bothered taking:

First, let us be clear about the nature of Senator Obama’s attack today: He used the words ‘losing his bearings’ intentionally, a not particularly clever way of raising John McCain’s age as an issue. This is typical of the Obama style of campaigning.

We have all become familiar with Senator Obama’s new brand of politics. First, you demand civility from your opponent, then you attack him, distort his record and send out surrogates to question his integrity. It is called hypocrisy, and it is the oldest kind of politics there is.

It is important to focus on what Senator Obama is attempting to do here: He is trying desperately to delegitimize the discussion of issues that raise legitimate questions about his judgment and preparedness to be President of the United States. [T]

The GOP has had 16 months to study the campaign strategy and tactics of David Axelrod. They have a ready frame, and it consists of making Obama appear as a censorious, arrogant, and ignoble and unworthy candidate, who doesn’t have a leg to stand on, contradicts himself at every step, and relies on vicious personal attacks because he lacks the eloquence to discuss policy questions in a manner reflecting experience and good judgment.

This GOP Anti-Obama frame is already up on a website, called “CanWeAsk.com.” Notice the clear implication of Mr. Touchy-Feely. So far, the advertisements are limited to just technical questions, but already, voters are encouraged to email more question, and the intent is unmistakable.

Starting with the technical, gives Obama the opportunity to say “yes, of course you may ask…” then another question, less technical “Hamas…why do they support you…” Obama grudgingly, will have to say “ok”…

Today, Senator Obama is complaining about comments John McCain made about a senior Hamas advisor stating that Hamas would welcome Senator Obama’s election as president. Indeed, on April 13th, senior Hamas political advisor Ahmed Yousef said, ‘We don’t mind – actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance.’

The McCain campaign has never suggested that Senator Obama supports Hamas’ agenda, but it is more than fair to raise this quote about Senator Obama because it speaks to the policy implications of his judgment. [T]

To the horror of Obamazombies, from “legitimate” questions about Hamas, the logical next step for the GOP, will be “we received a million emails Mr. Obama, asking about more than 20 years of Jeremiah Wright…” in which case-

Through their actions and words, Senator Obama and his supporters have made clear that ANY criticism on ANY issue — from his desire to raise taxes on millions of small investors to his radical plans to sit down face-to-face with Iranian President Ahmadinejad – constitute negative, personal attacks. [T]

Now take a look, at what a Questionable Candidate is all about.

Page after page after page of contradictions, lies, exaggerations, and promises.

The “Questionable” segues perfectly from “Can We Ask” and constitutes a direct devolution of Obama’s legitimacy for even being in the Presidential Race, let alone presuming he could actually become The President!  “Questionable” as in what are his credentials, what is his experience, does he walk the talk or just talk the walk? How did he win the Primary, how did he win former campaigns, was it because he shut everyone up and managed to dodge all questions using some kind of “unnamable” barrier? Was it because Axelrod worked extremely negative PR from behind the lines? How and why did Obama manage to receive such special media treatment. Why has he been permitted to go unquestioned about his past, about his ideas, associations, about his values? Why does Obama give the impression of having a hard time answering, and dealing with questions?

Just look at the page after page of well scripted memos! All of them an attack on credibility, and character. All of them a persistent exposure of Obama’s ignorance, lies, lack of qualifications, pompousness. We are talking about a bloodbath.

***

However, as good as the Republican framing and material get, for them to start coming online when Obama has absolutely no possible way of securing the Nomination short of a Clinton bail-out, may turn out to be a startlingly bad call by the GOP! McCain is still months away from any decisive contest. Clinton is the one who will potentially be the immediate beneficiary of all this material!

That said, the material has yet to be given network treatment - and until then, it is somewhat dormant. But the self-delusional claim by Obama supporters in the media and on the streets, that they already have  a Democratic Nominee, is the best way to get wake up this GOP material, and get it on the air.

The Obama camp should be careful, about spreading rumors that Obama plans a Victory Party on 20th of May. Besides giving the impression that Obama really is a Childish Ingenue, it is proof of a failure of his campaign to reign in his petulant supporters. The GOP will exploit such failure to the utmost. It wont be long before Obamavoters become a synonym for “Losers”.

Not only will Obama look foolish when he loses at least three sizable states after having been crowned The Victor, he will once again slump and skulk, the moment he sees what CanWeAsk implies.

A day before his “planned victory parade” on the 20th, this Republican publication will hit the stands. The entire issue is devoted almost singularly to Obama’s relationship with Wright. The content, is startlingly similar to ours, but enjoys better framing, and Republican Party support:

Senator Obama has real weaknesses. McGovernite candidates have always had limited appeal to blacks in
Democratic primaries and to white working-class voters in general elections. Obama has solved the first problem during this campaign but made the second worse. Both Obama and Clinton would lead a party that has moved far to the left since 2000, on everything from trade to health care to taxes to foreign policy, in some cases creating opportunities for Republicans to appeal to the public’s sounder views. Republicans are enjoying the Democratic fratricide at the moment and savoring the weaknesses of both contenders.

They should not kid themselves: The Democrats still have an edge in the election. As the Democratic race has continued, both candidates have maintained slight leads over McCain in the polls.

We do not doubt McCain’s ability to make a compelling national-security case for his candidacy. To win the election, however, he will also have to explain how a creative conservative domestic policy can help ordinary Americans, particularly in the lower middle class. If he does that, and benefits from some more luck, he just might make Democrats the bitter ones in November. [pay to read]

Uh-Oh, Race baiting? Eerily reminiscent of someone, no?

By my count, National Review already boasts 200 pages devoted exclusively to Jeremiah Wright. This is how the main article for May 19, begins:

What we’ve got here is failure to contextualize. If nothing else, Jeremiah Wright’s defenders and enablers are right about that. To fully understand those “sound bites” and “snippets” calling on God to damn America, accusing the U.S. government of intentionally spreading HIV among blacks, and blaming 9/11 on America’s allegedly terrorist history and foreign policy, we do need more context.

Far from exonerating Wright, however, removing those notorious sermon-segments from their endless video loop and firmly placing them in their social, political, historical, and theological context is even more damning (you’ll forgive he expression) than the original YouTube videos. The full story of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s theology and church adds considerable urgency to already-pressing questions about Barack Obama’s judgment in choosing this man as his mentor and pastor. [pay to read]

Summary: If Obama thinks he is the Victor of the DNC contest, then he is committing political suicide. He is opening himself to the next wave of negative attacks, which are like a knife to his throat.

Were the DNC to ignore this, and still, out of a masochistic urge, nominate Obama as its Presidential Candidate, then the suicide will be Party wide.

At this stage, nothing but misinformed babble by impressionable journalists, indicates this will happen. Obama cannot secure the nomination, while Clinton remains in the game. While Obama is getting soaked, the DNC still has time to chose between a Champion, and a Loser.

    Jeff
This is great. You have cheered me up. Reading and listening to MSN we get only the message that Obama has won the nomination. But what about these superdelgates? O got 7 more today. None seem to be moving toward Hillary at this point. How do we get the DNC to believe that we will never vote for O?

Oh good grief! Obama doesnt campaign and you have a problem with it. Obama campaigns and you have a problem with it. Who ARE you people?

Damned if he does. Damned if he doesnt.

Obama cannot do anything right. Has no redeeming qualities. And any gain he makes is always a negative on this site…which I guess is not surprising. If Obama sneezed, you would come up with an article entitled “What Obama’s style of sneezing has in common with Hitler, Bin Laden, Stalin and Mussolini.”

If you werent shouting at the rain, you would be complaining that the lack of rain is a conspiracy…and of course lay the fault at Obama’s feet.

On the other hand, maybe there is value here: you give the wingnuts a place to go with their frustration.

    Speaking of Mothers Day

Have all you Obamabots out there seen McCains’ Mother’s Day video on Youtube? An absolutely brilliant sly dig at Obama. The video is giving Obamaniacs including his media lapdogs like Olberman are having fits. Because they dam well know if Obama gets the nomination they can expect more of this down the road.

I think what is really distressing the Obamabots is that that Mr HopeyChangey may have to run against a man who actually unashamed no actually down right proud of the white woman who raised him. The McCain camp will want the public to get to know all about her. You know unlike the granny that Obama threw under a bus when it was politically convenient so he could defend momentarily the F’ing crazy racist charlatan he told the world was his spiritual advisor / surogate father.

As soon as Obama has locked up the nomination, the Republicans are sure to bring up “Where is the white woman who raised you Obama?” You know the 87 year old grandma who now lives alone in Hawaii. The one your wife probably absolutely hates with a burning passion. The one you never told the congregation at Trinity United Church of Christ. Yes, what about those nice white kumbaya Unitarian liberal grandparents who took you in and saw to it you went to a nice elite private prep school and had lots of social outlets and sports in order to keep you out of trouble when your mother basically abandoned you so she could spend 12 years selfishly working on her PhD. The grandma who 75% of your Black voter support knows nothing about.

Ah yes, Obama 08′ - Mr 35% of the electorate.

Please why can’t my fellow Democrats come to their senses and realize that if they can not stand Hillary, there is still the third option of also dumping a sure loser like Obama and drafting an Edwards or Gore.

But I guess immature leftwing Obama support netroots secretly really want BombIran McCain in the White House so they can write snark for another four years and laugh among themselves.

    Happy Mother’s Day Obamabots

Hopefully you will find your own elderly white woman to ignore on her special day.

Great post, I feel like I wrote it because its so in line with my thoughts. This ‘presumptive nominee’ thing is absurd. If he is the favorite, then why is he about to lose a primary on Tuesday? If he is a uniter, why is the party still divided? Nothing adds up with Obama’s campaign. It is all based on propoganda and backdoor smear jobs. But, Obama has nothing left in the tank. His campaign thought by using the same asinine tactics they used in Illinois, they could get the Presidential nomination. Unfortunately for them, Hillary saw right through this shit and is staying in the game because the longer it goes, the more Obama (and his campaign) are exposed. The man is a chain smoking, coke snorting loser who can’t think of anything intelligent to say when it is not about “hope” “change” or “Yes we can”.

  13. Gon 10 May 2008 at 6:30 am 13

  14. ccwarrioron 10 May 2008 at 7:33 am 14

Obama decision to stop campaigning in to try an suppress the votes in W.VA and KY..Hes trying to present the illusion of victory hoping to disinterest the voters in coming out in those states(Clinton states) Hes building up a firewall in Oregon to counter the vote in W.VA and KY, while he plays this psychological game thats is going to backfire on him. The voter turnout in both W,VA and KY show no signs of slowing down and I see a strong support for Hillary in Oregon (upset in Oregon). The finish line is 2025 or 2209 ( FL, MI ) not 2024 or 2208..close but NO cigar you have to earn it; it want be given to you.

  15. Mr Xon 10 May 2008 at 9:54 am 15

It’s already starting. They know exactly what Obama is doing. Obama keeps painting himself as the victim so that he can point his finger at the bad guys. Only thing is that Republicans are experts at redefining their opponent’s image. Obama will end up appearing as a “censorious, arrogant, and ignoble and unworthy candidate, who doesn’t have a leg to stand on, contradicts himself at every step, and relies on vicious personal attacks because he lacks the eloquence to discuss policy questions in a manner reflecting experience and good judgment.”

Jeff, you’re 100% right. His image will be completely transformed in no time. The Obamabots will wonder WTF happened. Can you say BAMBOOZLE? I’m hoping this transformation will happen before the nominee is chosen.

  16. Rachlon 10 May 2008 at 10:28 am 16

I usually hate Fox News, but they are at least trying to get the truth out there. I’m finding myself agree more and more with Hannity and O’Reilly. All these other reporters are blaming Hillary for negativity when she isn’t doing anything wrong. And that person whining about Obama getting criticized for not doing anything right needs to shut up, because Hillary gets a lot more criticism than Obama. These Obama supporters support him for ridiculous reasons and then go to Clinton rallies to shout profanities at them. I guess Obama is as dumb as his supporters because he thinks there are 58 states. I think they all need to go back to college.

  17. getting-tired-of-listeningon 10 May 2008 at 11:02 am 17

    Rachl,

Telling me to shut up for “whining” is exactly the type of verbal diarrhea that I would expect to come pouring out of a Clinton Femmebot. I know where you can get a good shovel; you appear to need one - if your comments are anything to go by. But thanks for berating me for having an opinion…you just expanded my definition of trash. I’ll be sure to remember you on garbage day. I give as much respect as I am given. But I also believe in an-eye-for-an-eye.

Well, listen guys, I’ve enjoyed reading many of the articles on this site. I voted for Hillary in my state’s primary, and I would’ve liked to see her the Democratic nominee– but that’s just not going to happen. UNFORTUNATELY, Obama will be the nominee. If it goes to the convention, the majority of superdelegates will back him. But it probably won’t go to the convention and Hillary will drop out before then.

Basically as Hillary supporters, we have 3 choices in the general election: Obama, McCain, or stay home. Personally, I’ll be voting for McCain. For years, I considered myself a Democratic leaning- Independant, but now I just consider myself an Independent, plain and simple. I think blind loyalty to the two party system is counterproductive, and I urge fellow Hillary supporters to vote for McCain in the fall. I know many who are, and I look forward to Obama being decimated in the general.

  20. Ijaneon 10 May 2008 at 12:16 pm 20

I think the “can we ask” campaign is brilliant!!

Putting the questions asked by regular citizens, Democrats and Republicans, also in a publication form like what’s coming out on the 19th, would send a very powerful message to the DNC, to the media and to the nation. When I went to the site and started reading the questions it hit me more profoundly then what I already knew which was that all these months have gone by and we still don’t know fuck about Obama thanks to their race distraction strategy. It shows how deceptive Obama’s campaign was against Senator Clinton and the American people. It tells the DNC and Obama that no matter how hard they try to distract it doesn’t make our questions go away. It shows how their campaign tactics try to silence people. It shows how Obama got away without having to answer any questions.

I love it! It’s brilliant. I’d love to see a commercial with citizen’s name, state and questions scrolling down the television screen one after another.

There are already 25 pages of questions which are limited to 500 characters. That’s a shitload of questions already! Love it!

  21. odocoileuson 10 May 2008 at 12:30 pm 21

You’re Republicans. You were always going to vote for McCain.

Good luck with that hundred years war.

Even better luck with those tax cuts going unmatched by spending cuts. Love those Republican defecits.

  22. Ijaneon 10 May 2008 at 12:43 pm 22

Sorry odocoileus that we can’t help you with Obama. If Clinton doesn’t get the nomination you’ll just have to hold your noise for four more years of a Republican administration…and then Hillary will run again. Obama won’t though. He’ll probably be in jail…his Byrne Grant program, the one that targets African Americans will end up busting him for something…

Rosanna!! Don’t say it! Hillary Clinton is taking this to the convention no matter what the odds are. She’s going the distance. If she has to walk away without the nomination then she’s walking away a fighter, not a quitter.

  23. Rosannaon 10 May 2008 at 12:45 pm 23

Odoretardus: I’m not a registered Republican. I’m not registered to either political party. However, in light of this Obama-fiasco, the Republican party does hold a lot more appeal to me.

FYI: 7 out of 10 of the last US presidents were Republican. The Dems are becoming more and more of a fringe party.

  24. MichiganCitizenon 10 May 2008 at 1:06 pm 24

I read a lot of blogs and have noticed that the Obama supporters always go on a personal attack against others who are expressing their opinions. They (like their leader) seem unable to discuss the issues and concerns being expressed. I vote they now go away like Obama and rest on their laurels. I participated in Hillary’s phone bank today and everyone I called in W Va said they will be voting for Hillary. It’s not over ’til it’s over!!

  25. Rosannaon 10 May 2008 at 3:07 pm 25

I just read that Obama has passed Hillary in superdelegates. Sad to say, I think it’s over for Hillary. Like I said in my above comment, as Hillary supporters we need to face the reality of our options: 1. Vote Obama, 2. Vote McCain, 3. Don’t vote.

    I will be voting McCain.

  26. Rosannaon 10 May 2008 at 3:18 pm 26

And like I said, I’ve enjoyed reading the articles on this site, but I too am starting to wonder who’s behind them. rachl, we’re very clear that we don’t matter to you. and we’re clear too that Hillary is made for us, a real qualified committed experienced knowledgeable candidate for President who actually has the ability, know-how, determination AND CARING for the American people to bring up real, viable, unifying constructive change…but why did you say nice to know you . . just like your candidate, double talk.

Oh, and incidentally, the next time you see your hero will you please let him know that we understand they did not teach American Government in Indonesia, but the fact is there are 50 states in US, not 57 as he just said in an Oregon speech.

  33. jmkon 10 May 2008 at 11:11 pm 33

to tired of listening: You are absolutely right - obama can do no right (except wright, of course.) You are wrong about Hitler though - it’s axelrod who looks like him - and as for osama, haven’t you heard what he and obama for sure have in common? They both have friends who bombed the Pentagon.

(apology on prior post if I got wrong name on the most recent obama supporter to dump us)

It’s such a relief when another one goes. The whole space brightens up. Next to go should be donna brazille - for her breakdown into total rage on MSM last weekend. If they still allow her on air, wonder what she’ll do for Mother’s Day?

Seriously though, any obama supporter who comes here needs to know that we don’t really dislike or disrespect your right to being. We just function from a different level - one that includes democracy and the exercise of the reasoning faculty. You might try it sometime - it’s way cooler than koolaid.

Also, if you don’t mind, we really like having 50 states, not 48 or 57 (depending on which speech you’re using them in.) I think it was a Freudian slip actually - which included the extra 7 he has planned after annexing the US to the Middle East.

Gnight all. Gonna go chuckle my way to sleep counting sheep that “change” colors like the horse in Oz.

  34. Pattion 11 May 2008 at 5:42 am 34

I have been voting since 1980. And I cant recall any candidate deciding he’s the nominee when he doesnt have the REQUIRED number of delegates. The rules committee is a joke, especially if they are talking about changing them to leave Florida and Michigan out. And changing the required amount to gain the nomination.

2 No McCain Either: That’s a good option too, for liberal Dems or die hards who won’t vote Repub. Like you, I’d urge those types to vote Nader rather than Obama. But for more conservative Dems or Independents, I say vote McCain.

Failure to vet BO has caused this havoc in our democratic process. Full disclosure must be done by the candidate himself/herself the very day the big wigs come calling, by the the candidate’s party, by the the opposition party and by the media. BO chose to hide much of his background, the DNC once again chose not to investigate their candidate, especially one with such a thin resume, the GOP is only now starting to scrutinize BO, and 90% of the MSm is in the tank for BO, as Terry McAulliffe (sp?), HRC’s campaign manager said with a laugh and no bitterness on Fox tonight. Terry said we keep fighting for the nomination. Amen.

Nancy, Dean, Teddy et al, in a hurry to do something big to make themselves look good after not starting to end the Iraq war (Nancy), losing the 2004 Dem. nomination (Dean), and losing the Dem nomination way back when and ignoring Hillary’s
win in MA this primary by giving his SD vote to BO(Teddy), VERY UNWISELY grabbed an unknown, unvetted “Black” man, threw him into the ring, and created the chaos we have today. The DNC has only itself to blame for backing a candidate who cannot win in November.

Let ALL the voters decide. THEN the SD’s can make their choice. The voter suppression by the SD’s, MSM ,DNC and BO camp is frighening and disgusting. Grow up, Democrats, and make the courageous, successful decision for our party and our nation. Put Hillary in the WH. It’s time for our country to get back to work.

Read “Curtain Time for Obama” by Evelyn Pringle.” Bye, bye, BO.
    Well Done, WV!
    Onward and Upward.

Obama has been marketed to the 3 groups in the United States most susceptible to Axelrod’s ‘themes.’ Those in academia and politics who either experienced the civil rights movement in the 60’s and those who were not born yet or were too young but romanticize about being a part of the movement, 2)college students who have no prospects for the future because jobs and money are only available for the rich kids and whose energy is desperately needed by the Obama campaign(I give you hope that things will change) and 3) African Americans who abandoned the white woman in favor of Michelle and Obama, the angry blacks who allow them to experience the anti-white feelings so long repressed. Now the fact that these groups are not enough to win the general election does not matter because he was never intended to win as another comment suggests. McCain has over 20 years experience, he’s already been throught the Republican grinder in 2000 and Obama cannot possibly win against him. When powerful money men hijack the media this is what happens, it’s just never been so obvious and so frightening before, knowing that the situation is not just about the U.S. now there are global consequences.
